Companies, Cgia: Increasing foreign ones, the Chinese boom – ilVelino / AGV NEWS

According to the absolute numbers it seems that at least a part of entrepreneurship in our country does not know the crisis. E ‘as it signals the Research Office of the CGIA. These are the companies led by foreigners who, between 2012 and 2013, increased by 3.1 per cent, touching, in absolute value, share 708,317. Where to foreign entrepreneurs are those people born overseas business office holders (shareholders, owners, directors or other officers) in enterprises registered at the Chamber of Commerce. The companies conducted by the Chinese have even seen a real boom: in the period under review increased by 6.1 per cent, exceeding slightly above the threshold of 66,000 units. Nothing to do with discouraging results reported by Italian companies which, unfortunately, fell by 1.6 per cent. Obviously, they note the CGIA, we must remember that in the first two cases we are talking about a few hundred of thousands of companies, in the third case, instead of millions of business. Of the more than 708,000 foreign entrepreneurs in our country, Morocco is the country of origin which has the largest number: 72014. Romania follows with 67,266, and soon after, China, with 66,050.

This ethnic group has “tickled” the interest of the CGIA who decided to make a study. Consider that compared to 2008, the Chinese economic activities in Italy have increased by as much as 42.9 per cent, compared with an average increase foreign entrepreneurs who stood at 23.1 per cent. Well, the sectors most affected by the presence of entrepreneurs coming from ‘”Celestial Empire” are trade, with nearly 24,050 activities (with a good number of enterprises concentrated among street vendors), the manufacturing sector, with little more than 18.2000 enterprises (almost all attributable to the textiles and clothing and footwear) and hotels and restaurants-bars, with over 13,700 activities. Still limited, but with a growth trend is very important, is the presence of Chinese entrepreneurs in the field of human services, or among hairdressers, beauticians and massage centers: the total number is slightly higher than the 3,400 units, but between the 2012 and 2013 the increase was exponential: +34 percent.

“Although in some areas of the country there are pockets of lawlessness that feed the black market and the market for counterfeits – says Secretary of the CGIA Giuseppe Bortolussi – we must not forget that the Chinese migrants have always been characterized by a strong commitment to the business. The Chinese, in fact, by the time they leave the country of origin, are among the most skilled in employing migrant ethnic networks to realize their migratory project which is realized with the opening of an economic activity. ” The entrepreneurial spirit of Chinese migrants is very strong. If the incidence of foreign entrepreneurs on the total of foreign residents in Italy is 14.4 percent, the Chinese are even 29.6 per cent, on over 223,000 Chinese living in Italy, 66,000 well drive economic activity . Lombardy, with more than 14,000 business, it is the most populated region from companies led by entrepreneurial Chinese: follow Tuscany, with just over 11 800 activities, Veneto, with nearly 8,000 and Emilia Romagna, with more than 6,800. In these four regions is concentrated more than 60 per cent of the total number of Chinese entrepreneurs in our country.

Last year, finally, there has been a sharp fall in remittances: The total amount of the sums of money sent to China by Chinese immigrants in Italy was 1.10 billion euro. Less than half the amount recorded in 2012 (2.67 billion euro). “Always – said Bortolussi – the main areas of origin of Chinese migrants are the provinces of the South East of the country: Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong and Hainan. For these people, the pursuit of success turns into a kind of moral debt towards the extended family and friends who have always been an essential support for those who want to emigrate. It is no coincidence that despite the contraction in 2013, ethnic Chinese continue to be in first place in the flow of remittances to the country of origin. “
