ROME, February 4 (Reuters) – Eni and Enel have presented this morning the first rapid charging for electric cars on a street of expressways, project designed to allow the use electric car outside the city, increasing the ecological mobility.
The recharge was installed at a service station Eni at km 31.384 of Pontina, between Rome and Pomezia, and will recharge in less than half an hour three cars simultaneously in both direct and alternating current, that is, all types cars, 50kW respectively, 22 and 43 kW.
In presenting the initiative, the CEO of Enel, Francesco Starace, said that if the project works in a couple of years you should create 15,000 charging points to cover the motorway network and metropolitan areas, while a capillary action at the national level would serve at least 100-200,000 points, costing between 2,000 and 4,000 for each charge.
The cost of electric cars in Italy is higher compared to competitors by 35-40%, according to the Infrastructure Minister Maurizio Lupi, inauguration arrived aboard a Tesla electric car of high range.
Starace has estimated a minimum of 20-30,000 and 50-60,000 up to the price of electric cars in Italy. “The cost is high compared to the traditional ones but with lower operating costs. A full 100 EUR corresponds to a cost of 10 Euros [for charging],” said the manager, adding that the trend of the purchase price is down.
Salvatore Sardo, Chief Downstream & amp; Industrial Operations Officer of Eni, said that the six-legged dog has 4,500 service stations in Italy.
The next week will meet with Wolves Eni and Enel, the president Aiscat and motorway operators to present a feasible plan on 2015.
