Italy, business services firm in February but share assumptions – SMEs – Reuters Italy


       

MILAN, March 4 (Reuters) – The activities of the service sector has remained at the stake in Italy in February, after growth made a sign in the previous month, to signal the continuing fragility of domestic demand, despite signs of restarting the economy after three years of recession.


       

And ‘what emerges from the index PMI (Purchasing Managers’Index), prepared by Markit based on economic survey among purchasing managers, which is slowed to 50 points, threshold dividing line between growth and contraction, from 51 , January 2.


       

The reading is below the median of the estimates gathered by Reuters in a poll of economists, which indicated a slight acceleration of growth to 51.4.


       

The sub-index of new activity remained in contraction for the fourth consecutive month, but at a slower pace, reaching 49.6 from 48.8 in January.


       

On the other hand, companies in the industry have started to take for the first time after four years and their expectations have marked the most substantial improvement from 11 months.


       

The composite index, a combination of manufacturing and services, indicates a slight reduction in the rate of expansion of the private sector, to 51.0 from 51.2 in January. Monday the survey related to the manufacturing sector showed a return to growth after five months.


       

The Italian economy after three years of recession, is expected to return to growth this year, scoring in the first quarter, according to Istat, a growth of 0.1%.
