ROME (Reuters) – According to the INPS, in the first six months of the year in Italy were switched 252,177 new permanent contracts in the private sector compared to a year ago, while keeping them stable hiring completed and are reduced 11,500 of those with apprenticeship.
At the same time, the balance between the new working relationships and terminations is 638,240 compared with 393,658 a year ago.
The figure is enthusiastically welcomed by the Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, that we are “on the right track against insecure … and the Jobs Act is an opportunity not to be missed, especially for our generation.”
The data on the labor market, however, they do not show a consistent trend, despite the Jobs Act that on March 7 has introduced in Italy on a permanent basis to increasing protections that allows dismissal without the protection of Article 18.
In order to boost employment, the government Renzi then expected from 1 January 2015 tax relief of up to € 8,000 per year for three years for companies hiring in a stable manner .
Istat recorded in the second quarter of 2015, employment rates and unemployment rose both by 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous quarter, while in the month of June, the unemployment rate rose to 12.7%, the highest after 13% in November 2014. The number of jobless in June is always increased by 55,000 units, including in relation to the decline of inactive (-18,000).
Most negative even for the unemployment of young people between 15 and 24 (the share of young unemployed on the total of those employed or looking for work) rose in June to 44.2%, the highest since the beginning of the series history in 1977.
