Greece, German parliament approves third bailout, ‘no’ slightly down – Reuters Italy

BERLIN (Reuters) – The German parliament approved the third plan of financial assistance to Greece, of which Germany is the main donor.

They voted in favor of the new plan by 86 billion EUR 454 deputies. Opponents were 113, while 18 deputies abstained.

The platform of ‘no’ was slightly reduced compared to last month’s vote, when the Bundestag is called upon to decide on the opening of negotiations with Athens. On that occasion were 119 votes against.

Before the vote, the German Finance Minister, Wolfgang Schaeuble, said that there is no guarantee that the third bailout of Greece will work, but stressed that it would be irresponsible not to give Athens the chance to start again.
