MILAN, February 10 (Reuters) – Mediobanca receives a good reception on the Stock Exchange for the half-year accounts announced this morning and considered by analysts “high quality” with positive surprises especially from operational perspective.
The first half of 2014-15 saw a net profit of 260.6 million euro, down 14.5% from a year earlier when the result benefited from gains of 152.5 million related the management of the securities portfolio. Revenues grew by 15.9% to 1.014 billion increments for the interest margin (+ 2.4%), net commission income (+ 35.5%) and trading (to 82.8 million from 16.7 million).
“The second quarter was much better than expected and excellent quality,” writes Matthew Ghilotti Equita sim in daily today.
“The numbers for the quarter, adjusted for non-recurring items, are slightly higher than expected due to volume recovery and corporate cost control,” according to Marco Sallustio ICBPI. “Good revenue generation ‘core’, also thanks to the recovery in the volume of credit and maintaining margins.”
“results in line with expectations and good quality especially at the level of the interest margin”, is the comment of a flash analyst at bro ker Italian.
At 9:30 Mediobanca salt 1.53%, but in the session also exceeded + 2%, with volumes not brilliant. The title outperformed both the Italian market with the FTSE Mib index rising 0.10% is the European banking sector (-0.53%).
