According to sources heard by Reuters the military’s Special Unit Currency Police of the Guardia di Finanza are performing searches in Milan, Bergamo and Brescia to the investigation conducted by the prosecutor in Bergamo on UBI Banca. The investigation, in which suspects are the top managers of UBI Victor Massiah, Franco Polotti and Andrea Moltrasio, and the current chairman of the supervisory board of Intesa, Giovanni Bazoli, regards the offense of obstruction to the supervisory functions of alleged pacts in the creation process of the bank. Reuters updates the rumors stating that the investigation has added a new offense, that of “undue influence on the assembly” (Article 2636 of the Civil Code), with reference to the assembly of the bank in 2013, who appointed the board of surveillance: it is assumed that they were illegally collected proxies in white.
