ROME, June 4 (Reuters) – The Italian growth for this year and next will be higher than expected driven by the trend in the first three months of the year, according to Istat, closed with a + 0.3% on a cyclical basis.
He says the Study Centre of Confindustria in conjuncture widespread flash this morning.
“The increase in GDP in the first quarter was higher estimates CSC and makes it possible to achieve in the 2015-16 results that exceeded consensus forecasts,” the statement said.
In the estimates of mid-December, Confindustria had estimated a GDP growth of half a point in 2015 and 1.1% in 2016 with an impact of + 0.3% this year and 0.5% next following the drop in oil prices.
“The economic progress does not mean that the serious consequences of the crisis disappear or make Italy a dynamic economy: the performance is less than the German, Spanish, English and even French. Just continuing along the path of reform can close the gap in growth and, above all, significantly increase employment and income of the Italians, “added the CSC.
