ROME, June 24 – In May, the contractual hourly earnings were unchanged on the month and rose 1.1% on year, announced by the Mayor.
In April, wages had risen by 0.2% in quarterly terms and 1.2% on the same period of 2014.
In May the index Nic consumer price index rose 0.1% both on a cyclical basis of that year.
Overall, in the first five months of 2015 the average hourly earnings grew 1.1% compared to the same period of 2014.
Istat points out that in May, with reference to the main macro-sectors, the contractual hourly wages were up 1.6% trend for private sector employees and no change to those of the government.
The sectors in May show the trend increases are more agriculture (4%), energy, petroleum and mining minerals (3%), rubber, plastic and non-metallic mineral processing (2.8%).
At the end of May, the share of employees waiting for the contract renewal was 40.3% in the total economy and by 22.9% in the private sector.
