Foundations, Guzzetti complains strong government fiscal tightening – Reuters Italy


       

LUCCA, June 18 (Reuters) – The foundations have suffered in recent years a heavy tightening of the tax burden and are asking the government to reflect on this theme.

“Overall, it has gone from 100 million euro of the total tax burden for the Foundations in 2011 to 423.7 in 2014. It is a report that, when the Government deems it possible, I hope can be evaluated with the appropriate attention “said Guzzetti.


       

Guzzetti said that the banking foundations are non-profit private entities, as stated by the Constitutional Court in its judgment 300 of 2003, “but which in recent years have experienced a gradual fiscal tightening”.


       

In July 2014, charges on returns from financial investments rose from 20% to 26% (after having already suffered in 2012 an increase from 12.5% ​​to 20%); the subsequent law of stability for 2015 has also resulted in an additional burden of taxation on financial income, reducing the share of exemption on dividends received from 95% to 22.26%, instead share remained at 95% for private entities profit.
