MILAN, June 5 (Reuters) – Consob has placed a temporary ban on short selling on Saipem for today’s meeting, according to a note.
The ban is in effect until 24:00 of Friday, June 5 on the MTA Market of the Italian Stock Exchange.
The ban covers short sales of securities backed by the availability. With this is extended and strengthened the scope of the ban on naked short selling, already in force for all equities from November 1, 2012 pursuant to the EC Regulation.
At the Milan Stock Exchange, yesterday, the stock closed down 13.6% on fears of a capital increase.
