Padoan: “Flexibility is in the EU rules We have every right to ask for it” – TGCOM

– “Let me urge our banking and financial system to take advantage of a stronger and more integrated EU.” This was stated by Minister of Economy Pier Carlo Padoan . “The capital market union is a great opportunity for our country,” he explained. Padoan then returned flexibility on the issue after the clash Renzi-EU. “There is nothing that is not compatible” with EU rules in the requests for flexibility on the part of Italy.

“Flexibility is the EU rules” – In light of the important reforms made, said Padoan, “we have every right to ask Europe a more flexible management of the fiscal rules, according to the rules that Europe has set.”

“Avoid times of uncertainty” – “We hope that the response (EU flexibility in considering the Italian accounts, ed) is dissolved early, to avoid moments of uncertainty,” he added Economy Minister at a meeting in Rome with his British counterpart George Osborne.

Juncker: “EU Commission will not follow austerity stupid” – And, by the analysis of national budgets, “the European Commission will play its role without a strict policy of austerity and stupid.” He assured the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, speaking at the European Parliament in Strasbourg plenary.

“Widely sufficient criteria for current flexibility” – However, added Juncker , “the Commission has introduced some flexibility criteria to the Stability Pact, and these are more than adequate to enable Member States, even those who face great difficulties, to prepare financial statements that comply with all the requirements.”
