Salini Impregilo signs a loan from 607 million euro for the construction of the third batch of the Third Crossing Genoa-Alexandria. The agreement was signed today by the subsidiary of the State Railways, the Italian Railway, and the consortium Cociv, general contractor in charge of the design and construction of the work.
Salini Impregilo is driving Cociv with 64% of the shares, while the Italian Society Water Pipelines has 31% and Civ holds the remaining 5%. With the signing of the Act, are well defined and the actual work is funding the lot of the railway line for high speed / high capacity that allows to expand the connections of northern Italy and the rest of Europe.
The related work will start by next June 30 and in detail, the activities planned in this lot, including the continuing work of the tunnel crossing and the realization of the entire gallery Serravalle. The total value of the work is the third passage of 6.2 billion euro. Divided into six lots of construction, the point spread for 53 kilometers, of which 37 in the gallery, involving 12 municipalities in the provinces of Genoa and Alessandria, between Liguria and Piedmont.
The work is part of the corridor Reno-Alps, one of the major backbones strategic trans-European transport network that connects the regions of Europe’s most densely populated and most industrial vocation. The third passage will allow then to Italy to star in a major infrastructural work internationally.
