BRUSSELS, January 26 (Reuters) – Italy’s thinking on how to make the most of the possibilities offered by the new European rules on flexibility.
He said the Minister of Economy Pier Carlo Padoan arriving at the Eurogroup meeting in Brussels.
“We are thinking about the possibility that the new communication offers the flexibility to Italy. The exploit at best” Padoan said in response to a question on the possibility of flexibility on investment already in 2015.
In the past week Brussels decided that the new rules are in fact meet the demands of Italy and France for greater space and time for the consolidation of the public in the presence of a structural reform process.
In terms of investment by not counting the EU has opened the door to the countries under consideration but not under the procedure and with a negative output gap for more than 1.5%. May deviate from the adjustment path with regard to national funding to the European Structural Funds as well as those related to the Feis. This is not however a golden rule: with the investments the country must not exceed the 3% deficit / GDP and must compensate within 4 years the temporary deviation in the path of recovery.
