Greece resize prospects new proposal for negotiations resumed – Reuters Italy


       

ATHENS (Reuters) – The greek government has reduced the prospects of a new counter-claimed by creditors in order to restart negotiations after the break this weekend.


       

“We have largely moved our limits,” said government spokesman Gabriel greek Sakellardis press conference when asked whether Athens will submit a new proposal to break the impasse with creditors. The spokesman added that he does not understand why the current proposal should not be considered sufficient.


       

However, Athens remains confident in reaching an agreement to pay the installment of the debt with the IMF at the end of June and does not believe that the ECB will make any move that could harm Greece while negotiations are still ongoing, he said Sakellardis.


       

“We are not naive,” he said. “We are optimistic because neither side has an interest in not reached an agreement.”


       

The spokesman confirmed that Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will travel to Russia as scheduled this week despite the breakdown in negotiations.
