In December, unemployment rises to 11.4%, but the year is falling; among young people is at its lowest since 2012 – Il Sole 24 Ore

The unemployment rate rose slightly in December (+ 0.1% to 11, 4%). But given the number of unemployed in the year rassicura.Le people seeking employment are 2,898,000, an increase of 18,000 units over November (+ 0.6%) and a decrease of 254,000 units over December 2014 (-8, 1%). This was announced by ISTAT.

Youth unemployment to its lowest since 2012
According to provisional data on the labor market, the youth unemployment rate (15-24 years) amounted to December 2015 to 37.9%, the lowest rate in the last three years. To find a level lower unemployment we have to go back in October 2012 when it recorded 36.5%. The figure is still well above the pre-crisis period (in December 2007, the unemployment rate in the range between 15 and 24 years was 22.2%).

Istat: -21000 occupied in December of +109,000 year
On the employment Istat certifies that those employed in December drop of 21,000 units compared to November 2015 ( -0.1%) coming in at 22.47 million. In the provisional data it points out that compared to December 2014 recorded 109,000 more jobs (+ 0.5%). Istat noted that the December figure was affected by the decline in self-employed (-54,000) only partially offset by the increase in employees, especially permanent (+31,000). The employment rate (56.4%) remains unchanged from November.

In Europe the unemployed down to 10.4%
better situation in Europe, in December there has a slight fall in unemployment: according to the latest Eurostat data, fell to 10.4% against 10.5% in November and 11.4% in December 2014 in the Eurozone. In the EU-28, the rate was 9%, as in November. As for the data on youth unemployment is 22% in the Eurozone and 19.7% in the EU. To detect the rate in Germany: in December, the German unemployment fell to 6.2% from 6.3% in November, the historically low level. The number of unemployed fell by 20 thousand units, and stood at 2.73 million, a better than expected which estimated a decline of 6,500 units.
