Now that the merger between Wind and 3 Italy has been completed with the creation of the new operator Wind Three, there are many users of the two companies, who wonder if and how the “wedding of the century” in the field of telecommunications will change something for them, or if, roughly, would remain unchanged.
At the moment, unfortunately, the information regarding this are not many, if only because we are only in the early days of the common destiny of the two companies (the official press release, for example, bears the date of yesterday).
In September of last year we had tried, as much as possible, to clarify some doubts: at the moment, a sort of “vademecum” of this kind, to explain exactly what will change, however, is not yet compilable. As often happens in this case, many users are turning to social pages (Facebook in particular) of the two operators, so you can have some comparison.
The social media manager of the two operators are in these hours answering a lot of questions, trying to solve as many doubts as possible in the first place, what will be the process of integration of the networks, which “will begin in the second half of 2017 and will be completed in the course of 2019,” according to what is explained on the page of the Wind, where it is stated also as a customers will be able to benefit from gradually of the new network infrastructure”.
so far, aside from the timing on the integration of the networks, nothing unpredictable. Particularly the expectations were, mainly, the information concerning possible changes in the tariff plans of two operators, as large assurances, there will be: the plans already subscribed by one of the two companies will remain the same even with the management in the hands of the Wind Three. The answer to the question “What has changed” is, for the moment at least, “Nothing”.
On his page, 3 Italy has provided explanations in regard to roaming (“there will be, in the short term, changes in the national Roaming for 3 customers”) and to the plans of loyalty (“For the moment, 3 and WIND will continue to offer their loyalty programs separately“). As you may have noticed, have been used expressions such as “in the short term” and “for the moment”: this is dovuo to the fact that integration will lead inevitably to a compromise to those that have been, up to now the trade policies of the two companies.
On the page of the Wind are instead arrived reassurances on the fact that Wind Three will be able to “offer new TLC services and innovative at competitive prices and will act on the Italian market in a more incisive”. We just have to wait to see if this is just a slogan, or if the Wind the Three will be able to establish itself not only from the numerical point of view, as the first Italian operator in terms of users, but also for the quality of its services.
