Italy can count among its records, in addition to higher taxes, high public debt and the high corruption, the record increases in public tariffs. Between 2010 and 2014 there was a real acceleration often not justified by a simultaneous improvement of services. While in Italy the increase was 19% in the euro area administered prices rose by 11.8%: more than 7 percentage points lower. Only Madrid has done more with an average increase of 23.7%. Among the major countries of Europe, however, France has recorded an average annual inflation of 12.9%, while Germany scored a touch-up in prices of only 4.2%. The calculations were carried out by the Office of Cgia studies that also analyzed the trend recorded between 2004 and the first 11 months of 2014 the tariffs of the main public services in our country. Over the past 10 years, administered prices have far exceeded inflation. Faced with an increase in the cost of living by 20.5%, the water has increased b y 79.5, the waste of 70.8%, electricity by 48.2%, 46.5 tolls %, rail transport by 46.3%, gas by 42.9%, 41.6% of the urban transport, taxi service and postal services 31.6% 27.9%. Of all the items analyzed, only phone services were down by 15.8%.
The highest increases have affected local rates. If as regards water prices charged are still now among the lowest in Europe, the increases from waste are totally unjustifiable. Because of the economic crisis, in the last seven years there has been a real vertical drop in household consumption and business and consequently decreased the amount of waste produced. Therefore, with less garbage to be collected and disposed of, rates had come down, however, are inexplicably increased. Consider that in the last year, as a result of the transition from the Tares Tari, Italians have even paid 12.2% more, compared to an inflation which has increased by only 0.3%.
The Secretary of the CGIA, Giuseppe Bortolussi, explains that ‘the increases gas have certainly affected by the cost of raw materials and the exchange rate, while the energy of the trend of oil prices and the increase in the general expenses of the system, in particular for the coverage of the incentive schemes for renewables. Urban transport, however, were affected by increases in the cost of fuel and labor. It should not be forgotten that many price increases are attributable also to the weight tax burden on the rates that, unfortunately, we have reached peaks not found in the rest of Europe. “
The Codacons complaint dear-rates, speaking of “a blow from 324 euro in 2014″. Waste has undergone average increases of 15% over last year, with a greater outlay of around 44 euro per family.
Significant increase in the water (+ 6%), health services (5.2%), the motorways of 4.5% (+16 euro), 2.9% for transport (+89 euro) . Even for canteens and school fees there was a greater outlay for the families of 48 euro on an annual basis.
