Fincantieri has been awarded an order for the construction of two new cruise ships, intended to brand the US group Carnival Corporation, Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line. The value of the order, as calculated from the data reported by the specialized site Seatrade Insider, approaches to 1.06 billion euro.
Thanks to this order, in addition, the group led by Giuseppe Bono, in 2014, it secured half of orders for cruise ships in the world. In the year 16 ships were commissioned and, of these, 8 build the Fincantieri. It is production levels similar to those before the crisis of 2007.
The units will be twins, respectively, Carnival Vista (whose value is about 640 million) and Koningsdam (425 million), currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyards. The ship for Carnival Cruise Lines, which will be the 26th in the fleet for the brand, will have 133,500 gross tonnes, a capacity of 3,954 passengers and will enter service in spring 2018. The unit for Holland America Line, the second class Pinnacle , will instead have a gross tonnage of 99,500 tons, can accommodate 2,650 passengers, and will be delivered in the fall of 2018.

Since 1990 Fincantieri has built 67 cruise ships. Between now and 2018 will build a further 17 units, including 8 for the Carnival group.
