STEP 1-Italy, production in March up 0.4% on the month, + 1.5% on a year … – Reuters Italy

       

 (Adds data release) ROME, May 8 (Reuters) – ROME, May 8 (Reuters) – In March, the seasonally adjusted index of industrial production rose 0.4% on the previous month. This was announced by ISTAT. In February, the index was up 0.7% on a cyclical basis, revised from + 0.6%. The index adjusted for working days was up 1.5% on an annual basis from 0.1% in February (revised from -0.2%). Economists’ forecasts indicated an increase of 0.2% on the month and a decrease of 0.2% over year. The Institute of Statistics notes that on average in January-March  production increased by 0.3% over the previous quarter, while it decreased by 0.1% compared to the same period last year.
