Mario Draghi: “The deviations of the EU countries put at risk the euro” – the newspaper

r the president of the European Central Bank, Mario Draghi, the structural differences between the Eurozone countries can become dangerous and explosive. This is the warning that launched from dragons during the forum of the ECB in the Portuguese town of Sintra
, about 30 kilometers from Lisbon. “In a monetary union we can not afford to have deep and growing structural differences between countries, because these tend to become explosive,” said Draghi.

Draghi added that such structural differences “can get to threaten the existence of the monetary union. ” The annual forum of the ECB in Sintra brought together central bankers, academics and members of the various governments that have participated in a series of conferences and debates on inflation, employment, productivity and monetary policy.
