Telecom, Mediobanca will come out okay with splitting Telco, Vivendi good … – Reuters Italy


       

MILAN (Reuters) – Mediobanca confirmed its intention to sell the stake in Telecom Italy, currently held by Telco, after which will come the final ok for authority Argentina the dissolution of the holding.


       

He said the CEO Alberto Nagel in a briefing on the accounts of the third quarter.


       

The sale of the stake “is not related to changes in the composition but the authorization,” he explained. “It will be possible to transfer the portion downstream of this authorization from Argentina who we hope to arrive by June 30th.”


       

With regard then to the next entry in Telecom Vivendi, led by Vincent Bolloré, the French entrepreneur who is also a major shareholder in Mediobanca, Nagel noted that “the presence of Vivendi which is a listed company with a strong balance sheet and that is led by an entrepreneur who has been shown to generate value is excellent news “for the phone company.


       

“Having a stable shareholder as Vivendi will allow a long-term strategy more consistent because seconded by a stable shareholder,” he added.


       

On the RCS sale of the remaining 6% will depend on the value of the stock. “Below a certain level we did not care to dispose of securities at above will complete” the sale, said Nagel.
