Telecom, Patuano officially resigned. The title highlighted with risiko of TLC – The Republic

MILAN – Here comes the long-awaited step back by Marco Patuano from the control room of Telecom Italy: CEO has officially resigned from the former monopoly Italian Tlc. A sector, that of telecommunications, which together with that of television is accentendo Milan Stock Exchange, in the wake of the plans for the birth of the media company that would bring together the same Mediaset and Telecom Italy, under the French Vivendi hat.

A project on which was attended by the dominus Alfa, Silvio Berlusconi, who spoke on RTL 102.5 says: “With Bollorè and Vivendi are possible forms of cooperation” for Mediaset, because the French interest is not for the company but for television group content. The leader of Forza Italy added: “I’m very aware what all involved my son Pier Silvio and Fedele Confalonieri.”

As reconstructed by Republic on newsstands, the TV Mediaset could end up under French insignia through an exchange of shares between Vivendi (company Breton financier Vincent Bolloré) and Alfa: on the one hand the agreement will provide for the management by Canal Plus Mediaset Premium, on the other hand you study of the co-production of content to enrich the nascent streaming tv schedules which should be an alternative Netflix.

In the game should therefore also fall Telecom, which sees Vivendi as a shareholder just under 25%, through the network on which vehicular streaming content, but also for the towers of the television signal. The outgoing Patuano would have preferred to sell them to the roped-Cellnex F2i, while the French are pushing for the sale to Ei Tower, the spin off of the Mediaset group: an operation that accelerebbe the birth of the media company. Patuano would, therefore, found himself isolated within the board and – in fact – had to throw in the towel.

The market, therefore, since the beginning of trade has been waiting for the official status of Patuano resignation. The Telecom was immediately well bought in anticipation of parts at the top (you will see live) in view of the possible plot with Mediaset: the title of Alfa, however is extremely volatile, first runs over 4% and then tear down touching a drop of 2.7% (live) to stabilize so little below par. Meanwhile, in Telecom home, waiting to be appointed the successor to the Alexandrian manager, the chairman Giuseppe Recchi will assume interim all operational powers until the appointment of new CEO. Marco Patuano, remembers a known, qualifies as independent non-executive director; as of today, it holds 70,000 ordinary shares (just over 1 euro each) and 30,000 savings shares of Telecom Italy.
