Verizon, ready agreement with Yahoo! – BBC

The agreement between Verizon and Yahoo! has been reached. The pioneer group of Silicon Valley will be acquired by the American telecommunications giant for a figure – according to agency sources, “Bloomberg” – of about $ 4.8 billion. The official announcement is expected to arrive in the coming hours, before the Wall Street commences the trading week.

the agreement comes after months of speculation about the fate of Yahoo !, which with great difficulty is trying to get back on top after several disappointing quarters for investors. In recent days, it was known that the negotiations between the two groups were at the final stages. To be acquired by Verizon will be the business ‘core’ of the search engine. The agreement should also include, according to “Bloomberg”, the real estate assets of the Sunnyvale group, but not the patents held by the company led by 2012 by Marissa Mayer.

the assets related to patents should instead be sold separately. The telecommunications company has got the better of other suitors including Apparently there were rival AT & amp; T, private equity funds such as TPG and founder of Quicken Loans mortgage company, Dan Gilbert, financially supported by the investor Warren Buffet, to head of the conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway.
