MILAN – Mediaset has filed a lawsuit against Vivendi on the premium each other. Cologno Monzese tip to “avenge” the step back of the group led by Vincent Bolloré, who has turned around on the binding contract last April under which it would acquire pay-TV. In a statement, the television which belongs to the Berlusconi family explains that the proceedings “is designed to get the compulsory execution of the contract by order of the judge and damages so far suffered by Mediaset, the estimated time for an amount equal 50 million euro for each month of delay in the fulfillment by Vivendi as of July 25, 2016. “ Mediaset specifies, however, that” the statement of claim does not concern the severe overall damage that the contract does not honored entail, not less than one and a half billion euro, but the obligation to execute the contract. ” The damages claimed – the statement concludes – is so relevant “only to the delay already accumulated so far” and “to any further delays produced by imaginative and dilatory motions of several agreements from the current contract.” Compared to initial design, at the end of July, the French group has submitted an alternative proposal to the Alfa, after more in-depth analysis on the sustainability of the financial prospects of pay-TV, which is not yet able to change pace and go into profit despite major investments the exclusive on the Champions League. In the new French design, Vivendi just wanted to detect a 20% premium and get to 15% of Mediaset in three years. A view from the Italian move as an attempt to come into force directly in the parent company. Mediaset was recovering from a positive day, fueled by the prospect that the negotiations between Cologno Monzese and Vivendi to dissolve hank could start again, but now the title is triggered realized. “We keep under review rating and target price, waiting for a looming clearer scenery on the fate of Mediaset Premium and relations with Vivendi”, wrote the dell’Icbpi analysts. The agreement signed in recent months by Mediaset and Vivendi provided for the acquisition of 100% of premium by the French, who, however, have recently announced plans to pull back because they are convinced that the objectives of the business plan of pay-TV can not be achieved. Same was expected the exchange of a stake of 3.5% of the two groups. At the window, in the game, there is also Telecom, weak (the title) on the Stock Exchange, after the recent positive phase markets. The title of the former telecoms monopoly have taken the store after the run of the last five sessions, but also in consideration of a listing on the Milan Stock generally depressed, much more so than anywhere else in Europe. Telecom (owned by Vivendi as the first member) has been named as reconstructs Republic on newsstands, as a possible candidate to acquire a minority stake in the television payment of Alfa, which should have ended in the hands of France’s Vincent Bollore under the agreement signed last April, but which has not done anything after the recent setback of Vivendi.
