In March, the national index of consumer prices for the entire community (Nic ), including tobacco, increases of 0.1% on a monthly basis and a decrease on an annual basis of -0.1%, (as in February), confirming the preliminary estimate. Stability, says Istat which released the data, the decline trend of the overall index is the synthesis of the downsizing of the decline in the prices of non-regulated energy (-9% from -12.8% in February) and the slowdown the annual growth in prices of services, with emphasis on those related to transport (+ 0.5% to + 1.4% in February). Net of unprocessed food and energy prices, core inflation drops to 0.4% (from + 0.6% in February); net only in energy goes to + 0.6% (from 0.7% the previous month).
The monthly rise in the overall index was mainly attributable to the significant increase in prices of non-regulated Energy (+ 3.9%), due to the sharp rises in fuel; to contain the increase is the decrease in the prices of fresh Vegetables (-3.1%). The inflation for 2015 and ‘equal to -0.1% (from -0.2% in February). Compared with March 2014, the prices of goods have registered a further attenuation of the decrease (-0.6% from -0.9% in February), the rate of price growth slows services (+ 0.5% from + 0.8% in February). The prices of food, for the care of the house and of the person decreased by 0.2% compared to February and grow by 0.8% year on year (by 0.7%). Product prices high frequency of purchase – as a result of rising fuel – increased by 0.4% in quarterly terms and showed a trend rate zero (-0.5% the previous month). The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) increased by 2.1% on a monthly basis and shows a trend rate zero (the provisional estimate was -0.1%), after the slight recovery recorded in February (+0, 1%).
