NRA, stop at “manovrone» tariff Telecom Italy – BBC

Milan , April 22, 2015 – 16:55

Be wary of the NRA ‘manovrone’ tariff with Telecom Italy is intervening unilaterally on millions of customers with regard to calls from fixed appliance. The authorities led by Angelo Cardani approved a formal notice to the telephone group led by Giuseppe Recchi and Marco Patuano after two months of discussions – submerged but lit – the plan that involved putting together different tariff profiles of the residential market fixed. Specifically, the NRA disputes the impact that the “manovrone ‘will also have on universal service telephone, that is the obligation of Telecom, as a former monopoly, to bring the phone calls to all Italian citizens who request it, even if both anti-economic (as with other universal services such as the Post Office or transport, the Italian state pays the company). The operation covers 5 million customers and for most of them would require a consent. Needless to say that the intervention of AGCOM covers only cases of increases, with a transition from the old tariff treatment according to a new, more complex but increments that can reach nearly 50% (from 18.5 EUR to 29). In fact it is a stop, in part to “manovrone,” because if it is true that the new rates will come into effect from May 1 next is virtually impossible that Telecom manages to obtain a written consent from more than a million customers affected, as required by Cardani, in so few days. Thursday, April 23 there will be a hearing anyway. Under the lens there is also the simplification of rates with the passage 17 to only 3 profiles which in itself is viewed positively provided to give more information to customers. The operation of the group started in parallel with the change of brand for both fixed and for mobile became Tim (the company will continue to be called Telecom Italy).
