ROME, April 7 (Reuters) – Tecnimont KT – Kinetics Technology, controlled by Maire Tecnimont, have reached an agreement for the construction of a plant in the petrochemical complex prolipopilene Sumgayit, Azerbaijan, says a statement issued today by Maire Tecnimont.
The total value of the EPC contract on a lump sum, made on behalf of Socar Polymer, a company controlled by the state oil of Azerbaijan, will be 350 million euro.
This is the first polypropylene plant in Azerbaijan, with a capacity of approximately 180,000 tons per year. The contract includes engineering services, supply of equipment and materials and construction up to the start up of the system and the performance test.
The signing ceremony will be held on April 14 in Baku, in the presence of representatives of the Azerbaijani government and the Italian one.
