Tltro ECB, a major Italian banks allocated 28% of total funds – Reuters Italy


       

MILAN, September 18 (Reuters) – The first operation Tltro of the ECB, which ended with the allocation of 82.6 billion, has seen a strong participation of Italy. The main Italian banks in fact have signed 23 billion, which is equivalent to approximately 28% of the total.


       

The data was collected by Reuters among the 15 Italian institutions participating in the asset quality review.


       

In detail, in the head are the three main institutions: UniCredit, which went 7.77 billion, Intesa Sanpaolo, which raised $ 4 billion, and Mps, who took money for 3 billion. Behind them stand Banca Popolare Emilia Romagna, which have been allocated 2 billion, and ICCREA Bank, with 2.24 billion, the result of requests for about 190 banks in the credit cooperative.


       

Banco Popolare and Credit Valtellina have collected 1 billion each, Credem 735 million, 700 million Carige, Mediobanca 570 million.


       

Do not have asked for funds Ubi, Folk Pop Milano and Vicenza. It was not possible to get the required amount from Sondrio and Veneto Banca Popolare.


       

The Minister of Economy Pier Carlo Padoan in recent days has said it expects the transaction between today and December that a request by the Italian banks around 37 billion.


       

According to the Bank of Italy governor Ignazio Visco Italian banks will be able to draw more than 200 billion of new funding from the complex Tltro, with a potential positive effect on the economy of between 0.5 and 1 point of GDP by 2016.
