Peppa Pig says no to the offer of purchase by a billion – The Republic

MILAN – One billion for Peppa Pig is not enough: “underestimates the company and its prospects”. Entertainment One, the Canadian company which owns the famous children’s brands, has rejected a takeover bid of 236 pence per share came by the British ITV television. Lacks only the official, but according to sources cited by Bloomberg “the eOne board of directors has examined the proposal and rejected it unanimously.”

Yet the British were convinced that we made a good proposal to get your hands on rights of one of the most beloved cartoon characters by children. ITV is the largest free network English became famous for having created and transmitted the famous series Downton Abbey in costume, while One Entertainment is the production company which recently also released the film Academy Award, Spotlight.

“the refusal is not surprising the British, since there was the announcement of the offer value of the shares increased by 10% making it seem like the price on the smaller plate,” notes

Neil Wilson analyst Etx Capital.

“the operation has a deep industrial sense. ITV is hunting for new content to be distributed and must quickly find a prey,” explained analysts stressing that “broadcasters are under pressure from new on-demand services like Netflix and Amazon Prime,” which landing in Europe are reshaping the media market.

Yet despite the market has believed all ‘operation and speculative buying on the Peppa Pig companies have increased, Canadians raise their barricades. But it is not excluded that the English network circles the revival: for ITV would be a major blow to be able to get your hands on a company that produces content known to the public and able to collaborate with giants like DreamWorks.
