The Ministry of Agriculture Food and Forestry announced that was signed yesterday by the Italian Government an agreement with Alibaba to promote excellent food of our country and combat false, from parmesan to counterfeit prosecco. An agreement that will allow Italian producers to satisfy the growing demand for Made in Italy on the Chinese platform which has more than 430 million consumers. A process that began this year at Vinitaly and now comes to fruition with the visit of the General Renzi Alibaba headquarters.
“The agreements with Alibaba – says the minister Maurizio Martina – represent a concrete step in our strategy of support to the Made in Italy food in the world, which also leverages innovative formulas to protect and promote quality products. We are able to guarantee our geographic trademarks a level much high protection on the Chinese platform. a fundamental result that, within the WTO , we pursue for decades and which, on the web we were able to build in a few months and with exceptional results. in terms of the promotion we had taken the Vinitaly commitment to leadership in the wine the day 9/9 and we kept: the Chinese market offers opportunities that must be seized immediately. “

A special event had its world  premiere last  Vinitaly  just  Jack Ma  , founder of Alibaba. From that moment the  Italian wine companies on the platform increased  from 2 to 50 with more than 500 labels.
