2015 is the year of the wedding: about 4,600 more than in the previous year. This growth has been the most consistent since 2008: in 2015, have been celebrated 194.377 thousand and Istat reveals that it has stopped the decline from 2008 to 2014, he had logged nearly 10,000 weddings a year less.
The strong decrease of the wedding between couples of Italian citizenship, that between 2008 and 2014 were a decrease of about 40,000, stop: in 2015, there have been 2000 weddings more than in 2014. Instead, the marriages in which at least one of the spouses is a foreigner are about 24,000, or 12.4% of the wedding total was celebrated in 2015, and decrease by about 200 units compared to 2014.
The growth is due in part to this data, and has increased the propensity to the first wedding: 429 per 1,000 Men and 474 per 1,000 Women. But the values are still lower compared to 2008: the age of the spouses, men 35 and women 32, has, however, increased to two years. Also relevant is the data on second marriages, which represent 17% of the overall total of marriages: 33.579 in 2015, almost 3,000 more than in 2014 (+9%).
civil marriage ceremonies now account for 45.3% of the figure, and in 2015 were celebrated 88.000, an increase of 8% compared to 2014. A ritual that often involves the second marriage, even if the italians who choose this type of celebration for their first wedding are on the rise.
with regard To the number of divorces, Istat reveals an increase: with the introduction of the “divorce short” have been registered 82.469, 57% more than in the previous year, while separations increased by only 2.7%. After the introduction of the law on agreements in extrajudicial cases of separation and divorce, were detected at the civil status offices 27.040 divorce (32.8% of the divorces of the year 2015) and 17.668 Separations (19.3% of separations). Also doubled the share of marriages of long duration: from 11.3% in 1995 to 23.5%. A propensity the less to the separation is felt in marriages celebrated with religious rite: 10 years on from the wedding, the weddings-term survivors are nearly the same for the cohorts of marriage in 1995 and 2005 (respectively 911 and 914 out of 1,000). Civil weddings-term survivors descend instead to the 861 for the cohort of 1995 and 841 to the one of 2005.
The separations with children in foster care are approximately 89%, and of these, only 8.9% are those in which the children are entrusted only to the mother. With respect to the marital home, and the number of wives to which it is assigned to increase of 57.4% in 2005 to 60% of the 105 and reaches 69% for mothers with a minor child. It’s stable, also the share of separations with maintenance paid by father (94% of the total number of separations with a check in 2015).
Finally, the average duration of marriage is recorded at the time of separation, it is 17 years old. At the time of separation, men have, on average, 48 years old, and women 45 years of age. Separations take place for the most part between 40 and 44 years for the wives (18.631 separations, 20.3% of the total) and between 45 and 49 years of age for the husbands (18.055, 19.7%).
