The best defense is a good offense. Electrolux, a global second-largest producer of household appliances and the market leader in Europe, declares war on American rival Whirlpool invading the United States market.
The Swedish company announced the purchase of appliances division of General Electric for about two and a half billion Euros.
Objective: to double the sales of its brands, including Zanussi and Frigidaire, stars stripes in a market that offers much more sustained growth than in Europe. Last year, the division of General Electric appliances grossed over € 4.4 billion.
