ROMA , May 5 (Reuters) – The president of Telecom Italy Giuseppe Recchi confirmed that signed a accortdo with Fastweb to develop the best technologies to bring the network speed to 100 megabits also using fiber optics only up to the cabinet, then with copper.
The manager spoke on the sidelines of the awards Guido Carli in the House.
“We have not announced, but the agreement with Fastweb is a different thing,” he said Recchi reporters who asked him if the agreement with the operator controlled by Swisscom were to be interpreted as Metroweb a measure against the project.
In the negotiations held with CDP for Metroweb , the president of Telecom Italy said that “maybe the story has been overstated.”
Recchi explained that the agreement with Fastweb is “done between two groups very active in the research, because we want to maximize our ability in increasing the speed of the network.”
