Greece, tomorrow it could be the decisive day – The Press

In expectation of today’s meeting of French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel at 18:00 today at the Elysee positions in Europe do not seem to change. Merkel’s spokesman Steffen Seibert warned that at present there would be conditions for negotiations on a possible new aid plan.

Formally also Germany has always kept open the channels of communication for the start of negotiations, but all members of the Germans in the post-referendum have basically shown some penalty against Athens and seem willing to promote a Greek exit from the euro firmly. The negotiations at this stage depends on the new proposals of Greece and the survival of the Greek financial system up to closing a deal. An important sign of confidence seems to have come the announcement today that Merkel would be ready to discuss tomorrow the Greek proposals.

Tomorrow should in fact be the decisive day that could lead to a common European position (as possible) on the case greek. E ‘known that great strides have been made in the negotiations in recent weeks and that the differences between the parties seem to have restricted until reduced to negligible compared to the stakes. Moreover, the politicization of the comparison has inevitably led to consider a number of variables that go beyond the numbers to become ideology (when not whim).

Most of the investment banks emphasizes that the scenario of Grexit (with or without a stay of Athens in Europe but outside the eurozone, with or without a parallel currency) the more likely, but certainly, apart from the absence of procedures for the expulsion of a country from the Eurozone it is also expected that a political agreement to that effect is neither easy nor obvious.

Italy reiterated its support for the negotiations for the mouth of the Secretary to the Prime Minister with responsibility for European policies Sandro Gozi. The mediation of the beautiful country between Athens and Brussels at this stage could be crucial, but it is said that it is enough. Contacts between Tsipras and Vladimir Putin today certainly confirms that the greek government is preparing to everything.
