Salaries, Istat: June + 0.1% (+ 1.1% on 2014). Still to renew 37 national contracts – Il Sole 24 Ore

In June the index of contractual hourly wages rose dell0,1% on the previous month and by 1.1% compared to June 2014. This was announced by the ‘Istat explaining that in the first half the average hourly earnings grew by 1.1% over the same period of 2014. As regards the main macro-sectors, the contractual hourly wages were up 1.5% trend for employees the private sector and no change for those of Pa.

At the end of June collective labor contracts in force for the economic concern 59.7% of employed employees and correspond to 55.3% of its total payroll observed. The contracts pending renewal are 37 (including 15 in the sector of public employment) for approximately 5.2 million employees (of which about 2.9 million public). The share of employees in the queue for renewal for the economy as a whole is 40.3%, unchanged from the previous month. The months of waiting for workers with expired contract are on average 52.2, a sharp increase compared to the same month of 2014 (30.3). The average wait calculated on the total number of employees is 21.1 months, up from a year before (18.6).

With regard to the private sector alone, the share of employees pending renewal recorded by Statistics stood at 22.9%, unchanged from the previous month and a significant decrease compared to June 2014 (50.1%); the months of waiting for employees with expired contract are 34.7, while the average waiting time is 7.9 months considering all of the employees of the sector. In late June 2015, in force 38 agreements regulating the pay of about 7.7 million employees representing 55.3% of overall payroll. In the private sector the incidence is 75.7%, with different quotas for economic activity: in agriculture is 100%, while 97.2% in industry and 55% in private services.
