Centostazioni back in full to the Ferrovie dello stato group. The agreement to buy back the 40% of the company from the Save, the current owner, provides that the operation, which will have to pass the scrutiny of the antitrust authorities, expected to be finalised by 31 January 2017. Centostazioni will return to 100% of the Railroads of the State. This was announced by the managing director and general manager of Ferrovie dello stato Renato Mazzoncini during the presentation of the plan “Smart Station”. The operation will involve for the State Railways at a cost of 65.5 million euros.
After the conclusion of the agreement will start the task of enhancing the retail stations that they can develop such a vocation: that is, Milan Porta Garibaldi and Rome Ostiense, Padua, and Pisa. In the operation could also be Torino Porta Susa. “We’ll have a race to sell the twenty-year concession of part of the retail stations of the network, he explained, Mazzoncini. “We have a group of stations that will be 16-17-18, with a strong retail vocation”. Over the operation today, the Railroads of the State “will have acquired ownership of all of the companies that were responsible for the stations”.
“The final goal is directed only to all the stations, we hope to get there by the end of 2017. Still to choose which will be the way to go, you could bring in the Rfi, and the owner of all the stations, but it is a decision still to be taken,” he added Mazzoncini. “We can’t afford — it has emphasized — we don’t have the stations that are in the relay race with one another. The logic is that of the bone and the tenderloin, with the grand resorts that draw the smallest If we want to get people from the self – stresses – we need to make the stations more and more attractive”.
