Poverty stable in Italy, but the poor are more than 4 million – The Messenger


 (AGI) – More than 7 million in 2014, Italians poor. Of these more than 4 million live in absolute poverty, or those who can not afford to buy the minimum needed to live. And ‘the photograph taken by Istat points out that after two years of increase, the incidence of absolute poverty, remains stable. Absolute poverty is substantially stable in the area, it came to 4.2% in the North, 4.8% in the Centre and 8.6% in the South. But it is still alert in the South where absolute poverty is almost double compared to the rest of the country, especially in small towns. As the absolute, relative poverty is stable and involves, in 2014, 10.3% of families and 12.9% of the residents, for a total of 2.5 million households and 7.8 people.
