In September, the estimate of the unemployed grows by 2.0%, amounting to +60 thousand, after the decrease recorded in July (1.1%) and August (by 0.1%). It detects the Istat. The number of people in search of work returns as well over the three million euro, up on an annual basis, where we record an increase of 3.4% (+98 thousand).
The increase affects both the components of gender and the different age classes with the exception of young people aged 15-24 years. In the same month, the estimate of employment grows compared to August (+0,2%, +45 thousand units), recovering the decline recorded in the month of July.

More 265mila occupied in a year
On an annual basis, says Istat, the trend is to increase the number of employed persons (+1.2% on September 2015, equal to +265 thousand). The growth trend is attributable almost exclusively to permanent employees (+264 thousand) and is manifested both in the male and female, focusing primarily among those over 50 (+384 thousand). In the same period drops significantly inactive (-3,6%, equal to -508 thousand), and increase the unemployed (+3,4%, eur +98 million).

The greater participation in the labour market in the month of September, both in terms of employment for both people in search of work, associated with the decrease in the estimate of the inactive between 15 and 64 years (by 0.9% or eur -127 thousand). The decline affects women and men and involves all age classes. The rate of inactivity falls to 34.8 per cent, a decrease of 0.3 percentage points.
In the July-September quarter to the substantial stability of employment (+11 thousand) is accompanied by a slight growth of unemployed persons (+0,2%, +5 thousand) and a decrease of the inactive (by 0.3% or eur -45 thousand).

In September, the unemployment rate of 15-24 who, that is, the share of youth unemployed on the total active (employed and unemployed), stood at 37.1%, a decrease of 1.2 percentage points compared to the previous month. It communicates the Istat, explaining that by the calculation of the unemployment rate are, by definition, excluded young people inactive, that is, those who are not employed and not looking for work, in most cases, this is because engaged in the studies. The incidence of unemployed young people between 15 and 24 years of age on the total of young people of the same age class is equal to 9.8%, i.e. a little less than one young person out of 10 is unemployed. This impact results in decrease of 0.3 percentage points compared to August. The employment rate of 15-24 who increases of 0.3 percentage points, while that of inactivity remains unchanged. In the remaining age-classes, there is an increase of the employment rate (+0.2 point s between the 25-49enni, +0.1 points among those over 50) and the unemployment rate (+0.7 points among the 25-34enni, +0.2 points between 35-49enni, +0.1 points among the over-50) while it decreases that of inactivity (by 0.9 points among the 25-34enni, 0.4 percentage points between 35-49enni, by 0.1 points among those over 50).
